Xbox Game Pass Will Offer Xbox Exclusive Titles On Launch Day

Microsoft launched its Xbox Game Pass game streaming service last year. It’s like Netflix but for games. Subscribers have to pay a fee every month and they can access a wide variety of games which they can download and keep playing as long as they’re paying for the service. Microsoft has said that it’s going to bring its own exclusive Xbox games pushed through Microsoft Studios to the Xbox Game Pass service. This means that the next Forza, Gears of War, and Halo titles will be available on Xbox Game Pass the day they’re launched.

Sea of Thieves is the first Xbox exclusive that’s going to be available via Xbox Game Pass on the very same day it’s launched to the public via the Microsoft Store. It’s going to be launched on March 20th. This title’s release will be followed by State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and the rest of Microsoft’s portfolio.

“Not just those games, but our future Halos, our future Gears of War, future Forzas, and other games. Our plan is to launch those to our Game Pass subscribers at the same time they go to retail,” said Microsoft’s head of games Phil Spencer.

Spencer has revealed that this has been a top request from subscribers as they want the company to add new blockbuster games to Game Pass. Microsoft’s decision to do this will give subscribers more choice on how they decide on playing those games.

The Xbox Game Pass service currently provides subscribers access to more than 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for $9.99 per month. Microsoft will launch a six-month subscription costing $59.99 for those who are willing to put that amount of money upfront.
