Facebook Messenger Allows Users To Add More People To Ongoing Calls

Facebook’s standalone Messenger service has made it easier for users to add more people to an ongoing voice or video call without having to hang up first. This is certainly going to make life easier for a lot of users who have ever had to go through the entire process of hanging up and then starting a call all over again with new participants.

Group audio and video calls were launched for Facebook Messenger users back in 2016. The features have gradually been improved over time to make Facebook Messenger a force to be reckoned with in this space.

In the past when Facebook Messenger users wanted to turn a one-on-one call into a group video or voice call they had to first end the call and then set up another one.

The user experience wasn’t seamless and took up time unnecessarily which is why it’s good to see that the company has made the required changes. Users will now see an “add person” icon in an ongoing call when they tap on the screen.

They can use this feature to easily add more people to the call without having to hang up first. Similar to other group calls on Messenger, all participants remain part of a chat group created automatically once everyone hangs up.
