Facebook Watch Rolling Out Globally

Facebook Watch is generally regarded as the social network’s YouTube rival. It’s a video platform that Facebook launched in the United States a year ago. The company has since inked content deals to bring news, shows, and more content to the dedicated Watch tab on Facebook. The world’s largest social network has announced today that it’s now releasing Facebook Watch globally.

Facebook mentions in a post on its blog that every month more than 50 million people in the United States are watching videos for at least a minute in Watch. The total time spent watching videos on this platform has increased by 14x since the start of this year.

It’s now making Watch available to all users across the globe. They will be able to find the latest videos across the variety of genres including but not limited to entertainment, news, sports, and more.

The Watchlist will be displayed at the top of Watch where users will see a collection of recent videos from the Pages they follow. They can customize this section by either following more Pages or removing pages from their follow list within Watch. Videos can also be saved for viewing later in Watch from the News Feed.

Facebook Watch can be accessed on iOS and Android through the Watch icon in the app’s shortcuts bar or the “More” bookmark. Watch will also be available on the Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, Xbox One, Android TV, and Oculus TV.
