While we’re seeing more support for cross-play in recent times, console exclusives are still a thing, such is the case with Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. However the good news is that if you’re not a PS4 gamer, the wait will be considerably shorter this time round.According to a post on Activision’s website, the publisher has announced the Sony PS4 consoles will still be getting an exclusive lead in terms of post-release content. Previously non-PS4 gamers had to wait as long as 30 days before such content was released for them, but now it seems that they’ll only need to wait 7 days.
Activision writes, “Speaking of content, PlayStation 4 players will get to play new content first on PS4 by seven days. This means all the playable content coming to the Black Ops universe following launch will land seven days early on PS4, including new specialists and maps, as well as seasonal events. After seven days, all new playable content will come to other platforms.”
However given that this time the updates and releases are expected to be in smaller, bite-sized pieces rather than massive updates, it makes sense for the exclusive period to be shorter. That being said, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is currently set for a release on the 12th of October where it will be playable on the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
