Microsoft Cortana Gets A Redesigned App For iOS & Android

iOS has Siri and Android has Google Assistant, so Microsoft’s Cortana’s existence on either platform does put it in a somewhat weird position, but it is there nonetheless or those who might prefer using Cortana for whatever reason. Now it looks like Microsoft is working on an update to the software that will give it a redesign.

The redesign will see an update made to Cortana’s UI where it will provide a more conversational experience for users. It will also be where users can manage and setup their Cortana devices. The update is also expected to allow users to listen to music and podcasts on the go, and users can ask Cortana to stream from a variety of sources such as Spotify, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn, or through their phone if that’s what they prefer.

Other changes include better organization in terms of creating and setting reminders and meetings using your voice. Also as expected of a Microsoft product, users will be able to join Skype or Teams meetings by asking Cortana. That being said, note that these changes are live for all users yet.

It seems that these are changes only available to beta testers of the app, so unless you’re part of the beta program, you won’t be seeing these changes until Microsoft has decided to make it available to all users.
