Google has an event scheduled for October 9th where it will unveil a handful of new products including but not limited to the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Recent reports have suggested that a new tablet is going to be on the agenda as well. It was said to be a Chrome OS tablet/convertible called the Google Pixel Slate. Some images of the Google Pixel Slate have now been leaked online.

The images of the device reveal that the Google Pixel Slate will be powered by Chrome OS and will be offered with a detachable keyboard accessory and an active stylus. This is Google’s first Chrome OS tablet with newer software and an updated user interface.

The capacitive stylus may be similar to the one launched with the Pixelbook last year. Reports suggest that the Google Pixel Slate will have front and back cameras, a built-in fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port in addition to front-facing stereo speakers.

There are circular keys and a touchpad on the detachable keyboard accessory. As expected, it has a dedicated key for Google Assistant. It connects to the tablet through pogo pins. Not a lot of details are available about the specs of the tablet itself so it’s unclear what processor is under the hood and just how powerful of a device it will be.

Google will confirm all of these details and more come October 9th at its event.
