Real-Time Translation Coming To All Google Assistant Headphones

Google Translate is one of the better translation platforms available out there, thanks to the use of machine learning that helps it better understand things like natural language and context. This was one of the key points of the Google Pixel Buds (launched last year) that provided users with real-time translation capabilities.

The good news is that if you don’t particularly fancy the Pixel Buds, the good news is that Google is now bringing real-time translation capabilities to all Google Assistant-powered headphones. This is according to a report from Droid-Life where they discovered a Google support page for the Pixel Buds where it reads, “Google Translate is available on all Assistant-optimized headphones and Android phones.”

Further testing by Droid-Life found that the change made to the support page was accurate (as opposed to made in error) as they found that real-time translation worked on non-Pixel devices such as the Essential Phone. This means that if you have a Google Assistant powered headphone like the Bose QC35 II, you should not have any issues using real-time translation with it.

While the Translate app already does real-time translations via the “Conversation” feature, using them on your headphones might be more practical and convenient in certain cases, so if you do own a pair of Google Assistant-enabled headphones, it might be worth checking out.
