Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App Hints At PC Release

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 was recently launched on consoles such as the PS4 and the Xbox One. Given that its predecessor was also a console exclusive, the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 skipped the PC did not come as a surprise, although we’re sure that many gamers are still hoping that Rockstar will have a change of heart.

The good news is that it looks like there is a chance that a PC launch could happen. This is according to a report from RockstarIntel in which based on files discovered within the game’s companion app, there is mention of PC compatibility. This isn’t the first time that a PC launch of the game has been speculated.

Previously a Rockstar employee’s LinkedIn account mentioned a PC version of the game, and there was also that time a retailer had posted a listing for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Of course none of this is confirmation as Rockstar has yet to officially comment on it, plus there is a chance if a PC release is in the works, gamers might have a long wait ahead of them.

This is because if you recall, Rockstar’s GTA V was initially launched on console and it took the developer more than a year before the game was released for the PC. Either way we’ll have to wait, but maybe don’t get your hopes up just yet.
