5G Samsung Phone Will Also Be Available From AT&T In 2019

Verizon confirmed yesterday that it will be offering a 5G Samsung phone when its next generation network goes online early in 2019. Earlier reports had also claimed that Verizon might be the first carrier to get this device. Turns out, it’s not going to be the only one. AT&T has also confirmed today that it’s going to offer a 5G Samsung phone in 2019 as well.

The country’s top two carriers didn’t mention in their announcements what this smartphone is going to be. However, there’s a good possibility that it might be the 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 that Samsung reportedly has in development.

This will be the second 5G device on AT&T’s network. The company has previously confirmed that it will be launching a 5G Netgear Nighthawk 5G mobile hotspot device when it flips the switch on the next generation network.

Samsung and its carrier partners are attending Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Tech Summit in Maui this week. It’s possible that we may get to hear about the companies’ 5G plans at the summit. A prototype device using Qualcomm’s 5G modem will be on display as well. We’re on the ground in Maui, Hawaii and will bring you the developments from the summit.
