Carl’s Jr. Will Now Sell Beyond Meat’s ‘Meatless’ Burgers

It has been suggested that our consumption and demand for meat could be hurting the environment in ways we might not have thought of, but for many of us, living a meat-free life does seem to be pretty difficult. This is why some companies, like Beyond Meat, have toyed with the idea of creating “meatless” meat which aims to provide similar levels of satisfaction.

Now the company’s “Impossible Burger” was recently given the greenlight by the FDA who declared that the food item was safe to eat. For those who are curious about whether or not it has the potential to replace meat, you can find out for yourself because Beyond Meat and Carl’s Jr. have announced a partnership which will see Beyond Meat’s burgers being sold at the restaurant’s outlets.

Dubbed “The Beyond Famous Star”, it will be available from over 1,000 participating locations. The burger will contain “melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, dill pickles, special sauce and mayonnaise on a seeded bun”. There will be a plant-based option for those who’d rather not eat dairy products, where the cheese and mayo will be removed from the burger.

Accordng to Ethan Brown, Beyond Meat Founder & CEO, “I have long looked forward to the day when my kids can go to a major fast-food chain and order The Beyond Burger. I am grateful to say that day has arrived.” Of course whether or not it will taste good remains to be seen, but like we said, if you don’t mind giving it a try, then you know where to go.
