A couple of years ago, Activision launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. As the name implies, this is a remaster of a classic game which was pretty well received, and the good news is that if you were hoping to see a remastered release of Modern Warfare 2, you could be in luck.

This is because PEGI has recently listed (and delisted) Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. Since PEGI is a ratings board, unlike retailers there is a chance that they might not be speculating, but at the same time it’s not surprising that they might have taken the listing down as the game has yet to be officially announced. This is also not the first time we’ve seen a listing for Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.

That being said, it is unclear what kind of strategy Activision will be taking with Modern Warfare 2. With the first Modern Warfare remaster, Activision bundled the game with Infinite Warfare, thus encouraging gamers to purchase the game if they wanted to get their hands on Modern Warfare Remastered.

There is a chance that Activision could adopt a similar strategy for this release, which means that we should be able to expect to see an official announcement for a new Call of Duty game soon. With E3 coming up in the next few months, there is a good chance that we could see the game announced then.
