Garmin Unveils Marq Lineup Of Smartwatches Starting At $1,500

We’ve seen how some companies have attempted to create luxury smartwatches, such as Apple who made Apple Watches out of gold and ceramic to try and appeal to customers who didn’t mind paying extra for the luxury. It didn’t quite work out for Apple, but Garmin seems to be willing to give it a shot.

The company has recently taken the wraps off its new Marq lineup of smartwatches where they are priced starting at $1,500, with some models priced higher and above the $2,000 mark. According to Garmin, these Marq smartwatches will feature the use of materials such as titanium and sapphire crystal, all while packing similar features that one might expect from such devices.

The lineup includes the Marq Athlete which is priced the cheapest at $1,500 with the focus more on fitness. There is also the Marq Expedition which is priced at $1,750 and is aimed at hikers with features such as topographical maps, a compass, and a mode that extends the battery life. Then there is the Marq Captain which targets those who love the high seas. It comes with a regatta time, tack assist, autopilot and boat data functions, and a man overboard feature. It will be priced at $1,850.

There will also be the Marq Aviator model priced at $1,950 which as the name implies, is aimed at pilots. It includes emergency navigation guides to the nearest airport, a map, course needle, weather reports, and flight logging. Last but not least is the Marq Driver aimed at race car drivers. It will be priced the highest at $2,500 and comes preloaded with data for more than 250 tracks, the ability to track lap times, top speed, and more.
