The iPhone XR Is Currently Dominating iPhone Sales In The US

While the iPhone XR might not necessarily be the most hyped smartphone, it does represent one of the more affordable iPhones in Apple’s lineup. For the most part, it features almost identical specs as the iPhone XS and XS Max, save for a couple of differences in the display and camera.

However, some might say that having an OLED screen and a dual camera setup might not be worth the extra hundred, and it seems that that’s how the majority of iPhone customers are feeling. This is according to recent data from CIRP who has revealed that the iPhone XR is currently dominating iPhone sales in the US.

According to CIRP’s Josh Lowitz, “iPhone XR continues to dominate US iPhone sales. It remains the best-selling individual model again this quarter, after launch early in the December 2018 quarter.” This is actually not the first time we have heard that the iPhone XR is doing better than its more expensive siblings.

This would suggest that Apple could be pricing themselves out of many customers who are unwilling to pay $1,000 and above for a smartphone. However, whether Apple will revise their pricing strategy with 2019’s IPhones remains to be seen.
