Some analysts have claimed that the iPhone XR is doing badly, but others seem to be a bit more upbeat. Even Apple themselves had stated that the iPhone XR was selling well, but stopped short of actually providing any figures. Now according to the latest figures, it has been revealed that the iPhone XR accounted for 39% of iPhone sales in December 2018.

This is actually rather impressive as it suggests that the iPhone XR made up more than a third of all iPhone sales. This isn’t a guarantee that the iPhone XS and XS Max make up the rest as Apple is still selling older iPhone models as well. This also seems to be in line with what we had previously heard.

Previously reports suggested that the iPhone XR was on track to outsell the iPhone XS, and based on these figures it sounds like it has managed to do just that. It’s not surprising that the phone is doing so well. It represents a cheaper version of the iPhone XS where for the most part it comes with the same hardware and features, save for the display and camera.

However for those who can’t justify paying about $300 more just for those features, it is a more compelling option. Some analysts have advised that Apple should further reduce the price of the iPhone XR if they’re hoping to make it sell better, but whether or not Apple will remains to be seen.
