Samsung Galaxy Fold Launch In China Might Have Been Postponed Due To Issues

As some of you might have heard, the Samsung Galaxy Fold has run into some issues with its early review units where reviewers have experienced some problems with its display. It was definitely not a good start for the company, especially for a phone that costs close to $2,000. Now it looks like Samsung could have delayed the phone to address those problems.

This is according to a tweet by Ice Universe who alleges that two of the Galaxy Fold’s launch events in China have apparently been postponed. Samsung had apparently claimed that they were having issues with one of the venues, but to have two events postponed does seem a bit suspect.

Samsung has yet to offer any additional comment, but it has been speculated that the postponement could be to allow Samsung to make some changes to the packaging of the handset. Previously, the problem that reviewers were experiencing was that some of them accidentally peeled off the protective layer on their phone’s display, thinking that it was just a screen protector.

Samsung has since issued a statement on the matter where they stated that they would be making some changes to convey this information to their customers better, which could potentially explain the handset’s delay as Samsung would need to change its packaging materials.

Note that this alleged delay seems to only apply to China and it is unclear if it might affect other parts of the world.
