About a week ago, it was rumored that a new Call of Duty game in the works known as Modern Warfare. The rumors were suggesting that this would kind of act as a soft reboot of sorts to the Modern Warfare franchise, and as it turns out, the rumors were true because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has since been officially announced.

According to the description on YouTube, “The stakes have never been higher as players take on the role of lethal Tier One operators in a heart-racing saga that will affect the global balance of power. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® engulfs fans in an incredibly raw, gritty, provocative narrative that brings unrivaled intensity and shines a light on the changing nature of modern war.”

This version of the game is developed by Infinity Ward, the developers behind the original Modern Warfare. It will support cross-platform play which includes the Xbox One, PS4, and the PC (sorry Nintendo Switch gamers). There will also be no Season Pass for post-content launch, and Infinity Ward is expected to continue to offer up more free content than ever before.
