It has been about 10 years since the last Left 4 Dead game was released. We’re sure many are looking forward to its potential sequel and while we have no idea if the game is in the works, a recent teaser video seemed to suggest that Valve could have something to announce in the near future.

Unfortunately for gamers, it turns out that the teaser video is a fake. Valve reached out to PC Gamer to confirm that the somewhat believable teaser is not real. Valve did not seem to offer up any other details, so for now we can only go back to assuming that nothing is in development, or at least nothing that the company has to share for now.

It looks like Left 4 Dead 3 has joined other popular Valve titles like Half-Life 3 as being in more of wishful thinking rather than a game that we can look forward to. The company has not produced any particularly new titles in a while, save for Artifact which is kind of a spin-off on Dota 2. We’re sure many would love to see Valve return to more active video game development, but until then perhaps you might want to replay Left 4 Dead 2 if you really need a fix.

In the meantime, you can check out the teaser video above, which as we said, is fake, but is still kind of believable.
