With the success of the Elder Scrolls franchise, it’s not surprising that many are looking forward to playing the next installment of the game. However, the game will not be out for a while despite being confirmed by Bethesda, but the good news is that it looks like when it does come out, players can expect to play it for a long time.

Speaking to IGN, Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed that they are designing the Elder Scrolls 6 to be playable for a decade to come. This means that players will be able to enjoy the game for years on end even when they’re done playing it. “Anything we put it [Skyrim] out on, it becomes a hit game. And they love it, they still play it, it’s almost infinitely playable, all of the mods and everything like that. And we’re 8 years post-Skyrim. It lets us know going into Elder Scrolls 6 that this is a game we need to design for people to play for a decade at least, at least.”

This shouldn’t be too surprising because as it stands, Skyrim is still very much played today. This is thanks to the various mods that the community has made for the game which has kept it fresh and entertaining. Plus, it wasn’t too long ago that Bethesda launched the remastered version of Skyrim which gave the game a breath of fresh air.
