Leaked Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Images Suggests New Design

One of the more obvious form factors and designs of foldable devices is a smartphone-cum-tablet hybrid. It makes sense where a smaller display unfolds to become a larger one. This is exactly the kind of design that Samsung went with with the Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone.

However, it seems that for the Galaxy Fold’s successor, the Korean company might be going in a different direction. Thanks to a series of newly-leaked images shared on Twitter by Ice Universe, it reveals that Samsung could be working on a vertical folding design for the Galaxy Fold 2, where it sports a clamshell design that unfolds to become a regular-looking smartphone.

We should point out that this isn’t a new design. Back in October during the Samsung Developer Conference, the company showed off concept images of such a device, but this is the first time we’re seeing the device in real-life. How accurate or real these images are is unclear, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

That being said, Motorola has since beat Samsung to the punch with such a design. Just last month, the company announced the new Motorola Razr which features such a design. The handset is expected to be released next year. There is no word on when the Galaxy Fold 2 will be launched, but hopefully we’ll have more details about that soon.
