AirPods Pro With Fitness Tracking Expected In 2022

At the moment, Apple’s main device with all the health related features and sensors would be the Apple Watch, but come 2022, that could change. A report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu has revealed that come 2022, Apple will be launching a new set of AirPods Pros with fitness tracking capabilities.

Apple has not updated its AirPods Pro ever since it launched, so a new model in 2022 sounds about right. However, the report claims that Apple apparently planned to launch it this year, but for whatever reason they have been pushed back. The report also goes on to state that the design will be similar to the Beats Studio Buds, meaning that it could do away with the stem entirely and give it a smaller profile.

Not much is known about the new model and what kind of fitness tracking capabilities we are looking at. However, the idea of using headphones to track fitness is not unheard of. There are some earphones and headphones out there that come with health features like heart rate tracking and also motion tracking so that you can log things like your runs.

Putting health features into the AirPods Pro actually sounds like a good idea. The AirPods Pro is currently priced at $249 so for those who need basic health tracking, it could be a cheaper alternative to the Apple Watch which is priced starting at $399.
