Putting together a gaming rig or a streaming rig can be expensive, but if you just want to be able to experience what it might be like to stream or game on a proper rig, then the next time you’re in Japan, gamer apartments could be something you might want to check out.

It seems that over in Japan, people have started to list what are known as gamer apartments. These are essentially apartments that come furnished with a complete gaming computer setup. Renters will be able to choose their keyboard and mouse combo, plus different apartments also come with different GPU configurations.

For example, there’s a “beginner” plan that costs 39,000 yen a month that includes a computer with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, and there’s also an elite plan priced at 69,000 a month that includes the use of a GeForce GTX 3070 Ti. The company behind these apartments, Basara who is an eSports company, also offers illustrator plans or video creator plans with computers designed for those tasks in mind.

All things considered, it’s actually not too expensive. Of course, long-term renting these apartments will end up costing you more compared to putting together a setup yourself, but you just need a break and want to spend a month only playing video games, this might not be a bad idea.
