The First Of Its Kind?! Samsung May Release A Three-Fold Foldable Phone This Year

Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has announced its plans to release a “three-fold” foldable phone later this year. According to Yogesh Brar (a popular tech blogger), the new device is expected to be the first of its kind and will replace the previously planned Galaxy S23 FE phone, which would bring the already-known “candy bar” format. The company’s display division has already showcased an OLED screen with two hinges that can be folded three times at a previous exhibition, and an improved version of this panel will be used for the upcoming tri-fold device.

A major player in the foldable phone market

This announcement comes as no surprise as Samsung is already one of the major players in the foldable mobile phone market. After the sanctions/ban on Huawei, it is now the undisputed leader in this niche. Talking about hardware, the new device is expected to be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset, the same one used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Initially, Samsung planned to launch three phones this year (the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy S23 FE), however, recent reports suggest that the latter will not be launched and that the three-fold foldable phone actually will take its place.

Something we cannot deny is that Samsung’s innovative approach to mobile technology has always been impressive, and this new device is expected to be another game-changer in the industry thanks to its unique design and advanced features. It will indeed attract a lot of attention and set a new benchmark for the mobile phone market. Let’s wait and see what the South Korean tech giant is preparing for the upcoming months!
