Huawei officially introduced the Mate 80 Series in China in November 2025, setting a new industry benchmark for display technology. The lineup consists of four models: the standard Mate 80, the Mate 80 Pro, the Mate 80 Pro Max, and the luxury RS Ultimate Design. A primary innovation across the entire series is the implementation of LTPO OLED displays capable of reaching a record-breaking peak brightness of 8,000 nits, protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass.

Mate 80 Pro Goes Global

The good news is that the Mate 80 Pro will finally be available for purchase outside China. Positioned as a high-performance choice within the flagship range, the Mate 80 Pro balances cutting-edge specifications with a sophisticated design. It is powered by the Kirin 9030 processor, ensuring robust performance for demanding tasks. The device features a 5,750mAh battery, providing significant endurance for daily use.

In terms of photography, the Pro model upgrades the standard configuration significantly. It utilizes a 50 MP main sensor and a 40 MP ultrawide lens, but distinguishes itself with a specialized 48 MP telephoto lens for enhanced long-range photography. Visually, it maintains the series’ signature aesthetic, featuring a circular camera module on the rear alongside a prominent ring dedicated to its wireless charging system.

Series Variations and the Mate X7

While the Pro Max and RS versions benefit from dual-layer OLED panels and the more powerful Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, the Mate 80 Pro remains a central pillar of the launch. Additionally, Huawei revealed the Mate X7 foldable, which is lighter (235g) and thinner (4.5mm unfolded) than its predecessor. The X7 features an 8-inch internal display, IP58/IP59 ratings, and the Kirin 9030 Pro processor.

Price and Availability

The price for the global variant of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro was not yet officially released. The phone will be sold in all the markets where the brand sells their devices. As for the other models of the Mate 80 Series, unfortunately, are only available for purchase in China (at least for now). The Mate X7’s global version retails for €2,099 (~$2,436).
