U2 System, Inc. (CEO Minjin Choi), a Human-Centered UX enterprise with over 23 years of dedicated research and development in user experience and product engineering, has announced its participation in IFA 2026—Europe’s largest consumer electronics and home appliances trade show, held in Berlin this September. Exhibiting at the Korea Design Pavilion by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP), the company will showcase its next-generation portable water purification bottle, PURISOO Plus, to accelerate its expansion into the European market.
Since its establishment in 2002, U2 System has driven user-centered product planning, design, and commercialization through its Emotional UX Convergence Research Center. The company’s design excellence and product competitiveness have been recognized globally through prestigious honors, including the Red Dot Design Award, Japan’s Good Design Award, the Korea Good Design (GD) Selection, and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award.
The flagship lineup presented at IFA 2026—PURISOO and PURISOO Plus—is an innovative, pump-based portable water purification system that provides safe drinking water instantly from contaminated natural sources. Its core differentiator is the world-first upper- and lower-modular filter configuration, allowing users to customize and combine filter media—including antibacterial Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes, Activated Carbon Fiber (ACF), and Ion exchange materials—to suit varying water qualities and environmental requirements.
The filtration system eliminates 99.99% of harmful waterborne pathogens while reducing limescale and bad odors and improving overall taste. An external pre-filter mesh traps large debris before reaching the core layers, significantly extending the primary filter’s operational lifespan. Additionally, integrating antibacterial materials into the UF membrane effectively inhibits internal bacterial growth, even when the filter is not completely dried after use.
Designed with an integrated pump and storage container, PURISOO Plus allows users of all ages to purify water rapidly with minimal physical exertion. To maximize hygiene, contaminated water never enters the main bottle chamber; only fully purified, potable water is stored inside. The system operates effectively regardless of water depth, and an attachable extension hose facilitates access to narrow or hard-to-reach natural water sources. These versatile capabilities make PURISOO Plus ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and backpacking, as well as disaster relief, military defense supplies, travel, and ESG-aligned initiatives aimed at reducing single-use plastic bottles.
U2 System validated its global market demand through early crowdfunding milestones. Following successful campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo in the United States, the company established retail distribution across Amazon marketplaces in the US, the UK, and France. In 2021, PURISOO bottles were donated to relief efforts in Haiti following a severe natural disaster, demonstrating practical humanitarian utility in critical emergency zones.
The upgraded model, PURISOO Plus, generated approximately JPY 10.8 million across two crowdfunding rounds on Japan’s leading platform, Makuake. This traction led to direct B2B supply agreements with local Japanese partners and sustained sales on Amazon Japan and regional offline retail networks. In 2026, U2 System expanded its Asian market footprint with another successful campaign on Taiwan’s ZecZec platform.
European market penetration is also advancing steadily. Building on relationships initiated at IFA 2025 with buyers across Switzerland and Poland, U2 System has completed three consecutive sample orders with Polish distributor Company B and is currently evaluating regional market performance.
At IFA 2026, U2 System aims to finalize commercial negotiations with existing European contacts while securing new B2B distributors across Germany, Poland, and surrounding regions where consumer demand for outdoor recreation, disaster readiness, and sustainable lifestyle solutions is high. Supported by test certifications from Korean and Japanese testing laboratories covering bacterial removal, material safety, and filtration efficiency, the company is systematically addressing country-specific regulatory requirements.
“PURISOO is a user-centered water purification solution designed to provide clean drinking water intuitively and hygienically across emergency and outdoor settings,” said Minjin Choi, CEO of U2 System, Inc. “Leveraging our presence at IFA 2026, we look forward to establishing sustainable distribution partnerships across Europe, transforming PURISOO into a globally trusted portable water purification brand.”
