If you’re the owner of either the LG G5 or LG V20, it might be time to start considering upgrading your phones to a newer model. This is because according to LG’s Security Bulletin (via XDA), it appears that both the LG G5 and LG V20 are no longer listed on the page. This means that neither handset will be receiving future Android security updates.
It has been over a year since the Android Oreo update was released but there are still some devices that have yet to receive the update. That’s despite the fact that Android 9 Pie has now made its way to a few devices and will be arriving on more in the coming months. LG G5 owners on Verizon and T-Mobile will now be relieved as the carriers have now released […]

So far LG has done a pretty good job at teasing what we can expect with regards to the LG G6. They’ve pretty much ousted all of its features save for the actual design of the phone, although we’ve seen those in several alleged leaks as well. Now thanks to a recent post by Slashleaks, a new photo has surfaced.
There’s good news for LG G5 owners on AT&T because the country’s second largest mobile carrier has now started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for this handset. It goes without saying that many LG G5 owners have been waiting for this update to arrive and provided that they are on this carrier, they will soon find themselves running the latest iteration of Google’s mobile platform.
The LG G5 wasn’t exactly one of LG’s best efforts. We love the idea and the concept, but we guess maybe the world isn’t quite ready for modular phones yet. That being said, it seems that the handset could be discontinued in the near future. This is according to a report out of Korea that hinted at the handset’s end of life.
LG tried its hand at making a modular smartphone with the LG G5 but the idea didn’t really take off as well as the company might have hoped. The LG G5 didn’t really sell well in the market and LG is believed to have gone back to the drawing board with the next-generation flagship. It’s believed that the company might dump the modular design for the LG G6. Latest leaked […]
There are all kinds of things we take into consideration when choosing a new smartphone. Specs are of course important, along with its operating system, and the accompanying ecosystem. However there are also other things to factor in, such as repairability because sometimes you don’t want to have to end up spending a fortune to get a phone fixed.
If you are the proud owner of the LG G5 from T-Mobile, you’ll be pleased to learn that the carrier has begun rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the handset via OTA. The update weighs in around 1.2GB and will also include the November 1 security patch, so clearly you’ll want to be connected to a power source and connected to WiFi.
Recently according to Google’s own stats, Android 7.0 Nougat is only installed on about 0.4% of all Android devices. However with handsets like the LG V20 and the upcoming HTC Bolt, we expect those numbers to go up even more, and now LG has also announced that over in Korea, the LG G5 is starting to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update.
Even though it has been a couple of months since Google released Android 7.0 Nougat its OEM partners are yet to send the update out, at least for their flagship smartphones. It goes without saying that some of the company’s biggest partners are getting Nougat ready for their devices. LG is one of them. If a new report is believed, the LG G5 is going to receive the Nougat update […]
LG didn’t quite get the consumer response that it was hoping for with the LG G5 and now the company’s fortunes rest on its upcoming handset, the LG V20. Much has already been said and written about this handset. We have also seen a couple of leaked pictures, the latest gives us a glimpse of the handset’s very slim bezels.
There have been many rumors and reports about the LG V20 which has been confirmed as the first smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat straight out of the box. It was previously said that the upcoming handset might have some modular aspects like the LG G5 but a new report out of Korea suggests that it may not be modular like LG’s 2016 flagship smartphone.
It could very well be that LG will be the first to have a non-Nexus handset launch with Android 7.0 Nougat in the LG V20, but what does that mean for the rest of its phones? Will LG just launch the V20 with Android 7.0 but take months to push it out to other devices? We know that Samsung is certainly trying to speed it up the best they can, […]
LG’s mobile business didn’t get the boost that it might have been hoping for with this year’s flagship handset and the company is now looking forward to the successor of its V10 to turn things around. LG has already confirmed that it’s going to unveil the V20 next month but it’s yet to show the device. Several purported renders of the LG V20 have been leaked online today and show […]
LG’s flagship smartphone for 2016 was good but it wasn’t good enough to stand up to competition from the likes of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. It just didn’t perform as well as the company might have hoped it would. LG’s recent quarterly earnings show that the G5 has contributed more red than green to the balance sheet which is why LG is now counting on the […]
Project Ara has been in the works for a while now, and when LG launched the LG G5, it was assumed that this would allow LG to corner the market on modular phones. In fact LG had a pretty good idea as its modules were simple, straightforward, and easy to use, but unfortunately the handset did not take off the way LG had imagined.
