These days microtransactions have gotten to the point where it is expected to be seen in pretty much every game. Some games make it a pay-to-win model, where you can buy items in game that will bolster your character and make them more powerful, while others adopt a more cosmetic approach where in-game purchases only affect the way your character looks.

Last week during the Game Awards 2018, Mortal Kombat 11 was officially announced. The game’s official trailer was released, but apart from showing off two characters within the trailer, not much else was known about the game. However it seems that in a post on Test Your Might, details about the game was discovered thanks to a leak on the Italian GameStop’s website.

Given that Mortal Kombat X was announced in 2015, we suppose it does feel like it is as good a time as any to announce a sequel. NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat X was launched in 2015, which means that it has been more than three years since the game was released.
