NVIDIA has been doing a great job over the past few weeks. It hasn’t been long since the company released its new Shield set-top boxes and later sent out the Nougat update for those boxes. The same Nougat update was later sent out fairly quickly to the previous-generation Shield TV as well. The company is now following through on this much-awaited update for those who own the NVIDIA Shield Tablet.
Earlier this month, an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow begun rolling out to the original NVIDIA Shield Tablet. Unfortunately it was quickly discovered that the update also seemed to have screwed up the WiFi connectivity on the tablet, which is why it was halted pretty quickly after the update began rolling out.
Last month NVIDIA launched the revamped version of its Shield tablet, at the time of its release the company said that even though the Shield Tablet K1 is shipping with Lollipop straight out of the box, it will soon receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Already operating in Beta until today, GRID is officially becoming an NVIDIA product and starting from Tuesday, Nov 18, all SHIELD and SHIELD Tablet device users will be able to connect and play PC streaming games for free, until July 2015. Presented as the “Ultimate Gaming Tablet” by NVIDIA, the Shield Tablet has been designed specifically to offer excellent (Android) gaming performance and PC Game Streaming capabilities in this form-factor, and at a very reasonable price. This is without a doubt an extreme tablet, and with the high performance for the price ratio, it is clear that something has to give. The question is: what is it, and does it matter […]
