itunes on apple devicesWhile Apple might have recently announced that they might be seeing their first sales drop, it seems that on the brightside, they have crossed a milestone in the sense that there are now over 1 billion active Apple devices in the market today, although to be fair this is a number that Google’s Android platform passed in 2014.

However considering that Android is made by so many different companies with varying price points, it’s actually impressive that despite Apple’s notoriety for its highly-priced products, they still managed to sell over a billion devices, which according to Apple is based on “iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Apple Watch devices that have been engaged with our services within the past 90 days.”

In a statement made by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, “Our team delivered Apple’s biggest quarter ever, thanks to the world’s most innovative products and all-time record sales of iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV. The growth of our Services business accelerated during the quarter to produce record results, and our installed base recently crossed a major milestone of one billion active devices.”

However like we said, other companies like Google have crossed the 1 billion mark much earlier than Apple did, but considering that Apple makes its own hardware and software, it’s quite an accomplishment by the Cupertino company all the same.
