Super Mario Run will be officially arriving for iOS devices come 15th of December. While this is not Nintendo’s first mobile effort, it is the first time that we’re seeing one of Nintendo’s most iconic characters and franchises make its way onto smartphones. Turn back the clock a few years and Nintendo would have been singing a completely different story.

That being said, the good news for gamers who want to try out the game is that during The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime announced that starting today (Thursday), gamers who want to try their hands at the game will be able to find playable demos at Apple’s retail stores, so if you do live near one or if you walk by one, you’ll be able to check it out for yourself.

The folks at Engadget have managed to get a hands-on experience with the game and so far their review of it has been very positive. As they point out, this is a great game for those who are looking for a quick gaming session, but is also great for those who want something that lasts longer as well. This is due to the design of the game which allows gamers to just get right into it.

Super Mario Run for iOS will be a free download, however gamers will have to pay $10 if they want to unlock the game in its entirety. We know that this is a bit expensive compared to regular mobile games, so it’s up to you on how badly you want Mario on your phone.
