In case you didn’t know, tomorrow (10th of March) is also known as MAR10 Day (Mario Day, get it?). To celebrate the day, we saw Nintendo team up with Google to bring Mario and his iconic go-kart to Google Maps, but the celebration does not stop there as Nintendo will also be discounting Super Mario Run.

The game, which is free to download and also free to play (limited to a few levels only) would normally cost $9.99 to unlock all of the game’s features. However to celebrate MAR10 Day, Nintendo has announced that the game’s full price will be slashed by 50% where it will now cost $4.99 only.

This is clearly a limited time event as the discount will only be valid from the 10th of March until the 25th of March, so if you have yet to purchase the game in full, now might be a good time to do so. This is not the first time that Nintendo has discounted the game, where back in September last year they also temporarily slashed its price by 50%.

Nintendo had also recently admitted that Super Mario Run isn’t as profitable as they had hoped, despite the fact that the game is probably the closest we’ll ever get to playing Super Mario on our phones, but hopefully the discount will help to spur sales of the game.
