friendly-runIf you play Nintendo’s Super Mario Run on your iPhone and you’re trying to save your Rally Tickets for when you’ve had better practice, we get it. However if you’re getting a bit tired of the same old runs over and over again, not to worry as Nintendo has updated the game with a new Friendly Run mode.

Essentially this lets players compete against the runs of their friends without requiring the use of Rally Tickets. However it isn’t unlimited and you’ll only get to play the mode three times a day if you’ve unlocked the game (costs $10), or once a day if you’re on the trial. However once you’ve clear World 2 and beyond, that number increases to 5 runs a day.

However unlike Toad Rally, Friendly Run is just that – Friendly in the sense that you won’t gain any coins or collect any Toads, so we guess if anything you’ll just have bragging rights against your friends. Interestingly enough this new feature comes on the heels of Nintendo’s confirmation the other day in which they said that no DLCs were being developed for the game.

However we guess Nintendo is differentiating between updates to the game and DLCs, which is good news for gamers who might have been worried that they just paid $10 for a static game.
