Sharp has a brand new range of Blu-ray DVRs, where the high end BD-HDW40 is able to store a whopping 1TB of data in addition to recording all your favorite movies on Blu-ray, although you might have a hard time filling up a single disc if you’re not a big fan of TV. There are four models in all, where three of them – the HDW40, HDW35 and HDW32 will come with a couple of digital TV tuners, 1080p output, Blu-ray playback and recording with BD-Live, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio as well as compression technology to cram up to 30 hours of HD shows per Blu-ray disc. On the low end side of things, you have the BD-HDS32 that has a built-in 320GB hard drive for those who are starting to venture into the world of Blu-ray and DVRs. The entire range will be out in Japan this coming March 27th with no word on whether they’ll be released outside that region in the near future (if ever).
