Back in February Sony Ericsson unveiled the Satio phone, widely known by its codename, Idou. Based on Symbian S60 5th edition the phone brings SE’s two Walkman and Cybershot brands in one package. That means it has an industry-leading camera and a full range of multimedia options aided by a new operating system. A 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen is well-positioned in the front and ensures that most functions are well within a thumb’s reach.

Even though it has already been a few months since the company made an announcement it is yet to reveal exactly when this phone is going to hit the market. Potential customers who might be interesting in picking one up would certainly want to know for how long they’ll have to continue to wait before they can get their hands on one.

A company executive just might have dropped a hint with regards to the Idou’s release. Sony Ericsson itself hasn’t officially confirmed a timeframe for the launch so we’ll continue to wait for the company while keeping our fingers crossed that this executive is spot-on.

When Sony Ericsson announced its Idou touchscreen mobile phone, it said that the device was due in the second half of the year. Now Gustaf Brusewitz from Sony Ericsson Sweden has said that the device will be available in either October or November, which should make it available in time for the Christmas shopping season.
