Optinvent comes up with affordable Head Mounted Display

Optinvent hopes to be able to release a fully capable Head Mounted Display (HMD) for under $200 before the year is over, where it is known as the Clear Vu goggles. This new pair of goggles will rely on a reflection system that displays images in the wearer’s field of vision instead of obstructing it completely, helping usher the viewer to an entire host of augmented reality possibilities, including and not limited to heads-up GPS directions. Actual specifications have yet to be released, so what we do know at the moment is the image size displayed will be the equivalent of watching a 71″ TV from 2.5 meters away.
