Google Acquires 3D Desktop Manager BumpTop

You might not have heard of BumpTop before, but now that Google has acquired the company, you can be sure that more people will hear of it. The company churned out a pretty nice multi-touch 3D desktop design that could be implemented into Windows 7 and OS X, and with Google’s acquisition of the company, we’re really interested to see whether there will be some interesting new features in Google’s Android and Chrome OSes. With everybody jumping on the multi-touch and 3D bandwagon nowadays, it shouldn’t be too long before 3D desktops become the norm. There wasn’t any figure mentioned related to the acquisition, though you’re free to speculate as you wish. Check out a video of it in action after the jump
