K-Way Motus hybrid-electric three-wheeled vehicle in no man’s land

We’re not too sure how to classify the hybrid-electric three-wheeled vehicle known as the K-Way Motus, but we do know that it was specially designed to participate in the Progressive Automotive X Prize. Taking over four years to develop to date, the K-Way Motus has already passed the initial shakedown tests with flying colors and is more than ready to take on the competition in the next few rounds. It can tilt into corners with stability, boasting improved aerodynamic efficient and crash protection. You can seat a couple of folks in there in a tandem configuration, where the front wheels feature electric motors which offer great road holding ability as well as full regenerative braking. We wonder what kind of license does one need if this were to be deemed road-worthy/legal.
