While the upcoming iPhone 4.0 OS isn’t even out yet, the iPhone Dev Team were so bold as to claim via a Twitter post that “with both 4.0 & iPhoneHD coming out this month, so too will the 3.1.3/4.0 carrier unlocks” – which basically means the current generation iPhone as well as the new iPhone will be able to play nice with a SIM card from virtually any GSM carrier worldwide – as long as the iPhone is jailbroken and unlocked. In other terms, a carrier unlock of a US iPhone will enable it to work in Europe just fine as long as you are using the right SIM card. Are you drooling over the prospect yet?
