Europe to get HTC Desire Android 2.2 update over the weekend

HTC has made it known that those living in Europe who have an unlocked HTC Desire will be able to take advantage of the Android 2.2 update over the weekend, bringing the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI to the fore alongside improved 720p video capture mode, iTunes integration and an enhanced Caller ID. This bodes well for American owners as it proves that HTC already has Android 2.2 ready to rock and roll alongside its latest Sense UI skin, with waiting being the only issue at the moment. If you happen to own a HTC Desire in Europe, be prepared to receive a notification of an over-the-air update download. Since the update will be rather large in nature, doing it the Wi-Fi way is highly advisable in order to avoid additional data charges if you aren’t on an unlimited data plan.
