Samsung Introduces A 65-inch 3D LED HDTV And Some 3D Plasma Displays

Samsung has just introduced four new 3D HDTVs, with the most interesting of the lot being the 65-inch UN65C8000, a LED-backlit unit that sports Samsung’s Real 240Hz panel and is capable of producing an 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Aside from that, it also sports Wi-Fi and support for a third-party camera, which enables Skype video calls through a Samsung app.

The three other 3D TVs are from the Plasma 680-series and Plasma-490 series. The PN50C680 and the PN58C680 offer 50-inch and 58-inch displays respectively and offer 1080p display resolutions on 600Hz panels. They also offer users the AllShare feature which allows them to access media on other PCs or other DLNA-compatible devices. Finally, the PN50C490 is similar but offers a lower 720p resolution display.

The 65-inch display is currently available for $6,000; the 58-inch and 50-inch displays from the 680-series will set you back $2,300 and $1,600 respectively; and the 50-inch 490-series is listed at $1,100.
