Sharp To Launch 60-inch Touch Sensitive Display For Business Use

Sharp is planning to release a large 60-inch touch sensitive display in Japan from August 31st. Users will be able to use the bundled pen to write directly on the display, using it as an electronic whiteboard that would fit in nicely in offices and schools. Characters and details written on the display can be stored as data and printed out, making it rather easy to share details from meetings. Sharp has integrated an LCD display with a touch panel in order to reduce parallax on this display, and also used an “infrared ray interruption method” in order to enhance the detection accuracy of the touch panel. There isn’t a suggested retail price, but it’s expected to retail for 1,000,000 Yen ($11,659) when it’s released.
