WD My Book Live Home Network Drive Announced

Western Digital has just announced its My Book Live home network drive which the company touts as being able to deliver transfer speeds of up to 100MBps, more than triple the speed of traditional USB 2.0 drives and double the speed of most other network drives in its class. The drive offers support for Apple’s Time Machine, integrated DLNA-compatible media server that can stream photos, videos, and audio through a variety of devices such as the WD TV Live Plus HD, Xbox 360, Blu-ray players, PS3, etc. It can also function as an iTunes music server when paired with the company’s updated WD Photos app that has been optimized for the iPad and iPhone 4, allowing users to flip through their photo albums remotely. The WD My Book Live will set you back $169.99 for the 1TB version, and $229.99 for the 2TB version.
