Sony Reader Daily Edition Now Available for Purchase with WiFi + 3G

Sony has just announced that its 7-inch E-Ink Daily Reader Edition e-reader with WiFi and 3G access is now available for the sum of $299 in silver shade. The price is inclusive of wireless data access over a mobile broadband connection and users won’t have to pay any additional fees to make use of 3G. 3G could be used only to access the Sony Reader store at this point, with WiFi being left for more liberal uses, including store and website access. The Daily Reader Edition WiFi + 3G is now available online through Sony’s portal and at Sony retail store locations. The device comes with 2 GB of storage with the ability to add storage via a memory card and content can also be sideloaded as well using USB and a connected computer. According to Sony, the device uses an optical touchscreen technology: “Like the new Reader Pocket Editionâ„¢ and Reader Touch Editionâ„¢, the Reader Daily Edition is also outfitted with first-to-market optical touch screen technology, which enhances ease of use and increases reading clarity on its seven-inch, full touch screen.”
