Rumor: Microsoft bringing Windows to ARM chips

Word is going around that Microsoft will be unveiling a full-featured version of Windows that will be capable of running on ARM-based processors at CES, marking a major departure from the x86 architecture. If the whispers going around are accurate, this version of Windows will continue to work on x86 processors, though it should offer improved battery performance on devices such as tablets that will be powered by ARM processors. Other sources claim that this new version will not be available for another two years, which is a long time in terms of technology and trends. Still, with CES just around the corner, we shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out if these reports are accurate or not.
