If getting a compact camera with good video recording capabilities is a priority for you, the freshly announced Panasonic DMC-FX78 is a camera you might want to consider. It’s armed with a Leica 24mm wide-angle lens and a 12.1-megapixel image sensor. When it comes to video recording, the FX78 can record full 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution videos in AVCHD and you’re offered a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that allows you to control all the camera’s functions such as autofocus, zooming, playback and more. As with Panasonic’s other cameras, this one features a 3D Photo mode too, allowing you to easily capture 3D pictures that can later be viewed on a supported TV. The DMC-FX78 will be available in black, gold and white and is set to arrive in March 2011.
