For many of us reading this post, chances are pretty good that we live in a place where brownouts are extremely rare, happening only once in a while. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the rest of the underdeveloped world, where there is power rationing or even worse, no power supply at all. True Energy intends to change things with their special ‘Vaccine Refrigerator’ which is said to maintain a constant temperature of below 10˚C for up to 10 days without having to sip a single volt of electricity – regardless of the external temperature which can even hit a sweltering 43˚C. How does this mini miracle happen? Well, the Vaccine Refrigerator will use the company’s Sure Chill technology that merges an integrated rechargeable battery powered by the grid, a solar panel, or both – and good ol’ heavy-duty insulation. Currently in use by the World Health Organization and Unicef, one can expect the Vaccine Refrigerator to see more commercial use.
