Gmail issues resolved by Google

Gmail

According to an official announcement from Google, the issue where a number of Gmail users lost all their old emails has been resolved. The incident, which was reported this Monday and claimed to be fixed a few days later wasn’t completely fixed, with a number of Gmail users still without access to their old emails. But judging from Google’s latest statement, all those issues should be gone, though if anybody still has problems with Gmail, they should contact Google. At any rate, this whole snafu should be a wakeup call for users who completely rely on cloud computing – offline backups of your email might be in order now. Here’s what Google said:

The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.

Gmail should be back to normal for the vast majority of people affected by this issue. If you are still experiencing an issue, please contact us at gmail-maintenance@google.com. Thanks again for bearing with us.

How many of you were affected by the incident, and have all your messages been restored?
