BBC iPlayer arriving on Panasonic HDTVs this year

BBC iPlayer fans rejoice – Panasonic has confirmed that the BBC iPlayer app will be arriving on their internet-connected HD TVs that will be released this year. iPlayer will be integrated into Viera Connect – the UI that Panasonic uses to manage IPTV services (YouTube, Dailymotion, and Acetrax are also handled by the same UI). Unfortunately, BBC iPlayer won’t be available for the older Panasonic TVs even though they support Viera Connect, so folks who want to make use of BBC iPlayer – hold out on buying a new Panasonic internet TV until later this year, or look for it on an alternative platform.
