Motorola Atrix 4G receives unofficial upload speed boost

Motorola Atrix 4GRemember the whole controversy about AT&T capping upload speeds on their 4G phones? Well, AT&T mentioned that they were testing and preparing the network before releasing the update to 4G phone users on their network. It’s been awhile now and we’ve still yet to hear about the fix from AT&T, and despite the fix that is supposed to be on the way, the folks over at XDA-developers didn’t sit around waiting for it to happen. They decided to work on an update themselves and have come up with a fix.

After applying the HSUPA patch, users have reported a jump from 0.3Mbps to 2Mbps when uploading files – a massive jump in speed. The fix currently works on the Motorola Atrix 4G, those with the HTC Inspire 4G will have to wait. Let’s see if AT&T can push it out before the XDA crew. Head over to XDA-developers for instructions on how to restore your 4G upload speed on your Motorola Atrix 4G. As usual, make sure you know what you’re doing and backup your phone before attempting to do anything to your phone.
