Long time suffering owners of the myTouch Slide 3G smartphone from T-Mobile will no longer need to look far into the horizon, keeping their fingers crossed that their smartphone will be able to receive a software update to the Android operating system, and soon. After all, T-Mobile has just announced the availability of Android 2.2 Froyo for the Slide 3G – albeit a manual one, which means you will have to forgo any Over The Air updates. Just make sure that your handset has at least 25MB of user data available, not to mention a Windows-powered computer since Macs are not supported.
