Microsoft pushes out Windows Phone 7 security update

Windows Phone 7 logoSome of you might have noticed that Microsoft has sent out notifications about a security-focused update for Windows Phone 7.

It looks like Microsoft is soldiering on with new updates for Windows Phone 7, despite problems with the updating of Samsung devices still unresolved. As some of you might have already noticed, Microsoft has begun pushing out notifications about a new security-based update for WP7 starting today. The “7932” update fixes issues with fraudulent third-party digital certificates from Comodo.

Other than the certificate issue, no other fixes were mentioned. When you receive the notification, just plug your WP7 device into your computer (backup your files just in case), and launch Zune to update your phone. For users who still haven’t received NoDo, fret not – all the Windows Phone updates are cumulative, so if you install the latest “7932” update, you’ll be getting all the previous updates as well, including NoDo.

Let’s hope this round of updates don’t cause more phones to brick.
